/Internet Radio and Podcasting PR News/ - CHICAGO, IL, July 18, 2007 - On Friday the 13th, Adam Curry played an audio clip on his 'Daily Source Code' show from a couple planning to spend 365 days on the road to document the 2008 election. Curry offered to sponsor the tour and loan them his eco-friendly, bio-diesel car "Trinity".
Thrilled at the ability to go "Green" on their travels, Shane and Amy Bugbee, the tour planners who are hitting the road in November, accepted the challenge Monday, July 16th -- Ironically, 62nd anniversary of the "Trinity Test", the first detonation of a nuclear bomb, the date is considered the birth of the Atomic Age.
The couple launched their website, www.ayearatthewheel.com (http://www.ayearatthewheel.com) on the 4th Of July to count down the days until their departure on November 4th, 2007. They will travel the country for a full year, and end on Election Day (November 4th, 2008) in Washington DC. While on the road, they will interview celebrities, politicos and activists... speaking to regular folks on the street about the issues, and documenting the results with podcasts and short videos-casts.
Adam Curry, known as the "Podfather", has been at the forefront of computer technology since he was an MTV VJ in the 1980s and 90s. His current venture, Podshow.com is the quintessential network for podcasting, and Curry hosts a show called 'Daily Source Code'. Curry has been trying to "Free Trinity", his 1984 alternatively fueled Mercedes station wagon for some time, but until now his eco-friendly wish had gone unanswered. Then Shane and Amy came calling.
As the two entities work out the details, more will be announced.
